class reunion for 4SB , (1993) SASS

went for a class reunion for my secondary school mates, most of them from the class 4SB, one from 4SA, a total of 10 ppl.

my how times have flies! it almost 14 years , i really have not met some of them for 14 years liao!! most of them have not changed much except horizontally (more fat in the tummies) but the face is still about the same.

one notable class mate Kor Kian Beng is working in The News Paper as a journalist, kinda the jokes man in this gathering together with miki xu wei xiong a wokring auditor (i alomst could not recognise him cos his face much more rounded then before).

huang wei xiong working in the government sector ICA as some officer in the section handling death and birth (of passports!)Issac works in a shipping company selling diesel oil fuel to ships.

Su zhi kuan works in laselle as a auditor, Lee Koon Heng works as engineer in turbine overhaul systems, Zhuang fook ann as a electrical engineer, Koh Kian boon as a pharmcist in SGH,zhang guo liang as a bio teacher in VJC ( he's getting married in sept aboard a boat "zheng he" and that might be our next class meeting!)

discharged from TTSH and transfered to AMK-THKH hosp for rehab

my mum just got discharged from TTSH at 9am today and was transferred into AMK-THKH community hospital for rehab at ward 1 level 2 bed 1033, the rate was subsidised at $68 /day total for a period of 4 weeks is $2040. (maximum length of stay is 4 weeks)

because AMK-THKH is not a restructured hospital like TTSH , the maximum allowable deduction from medisave account is $3500 per year, and from the bill from TTSH during her 10 day stay is about $2247, there might be a possiblity i need to top up cash if she overstays at AMK-THKH, social overstayers pay $150 per day for unsubsidised rates.

i have only about $8518 in mine medisave, and my mum is about $1159, it calculates to about 17 days of social overstaying... assuming that my mum pays for her stay at AMK with her medisave.

$8518-$2247=$6267 leftovers from TTSH stay

$1159-$2040=-$881

6267-881 = $5386

(3500-881)/150=17 days of social overstaying. after which will be paid with cash.

wondering if hiring a maid would be better idea then letting her overstay in AMK. hope she could get well soon within that 4 weeks of stay in AMK and start walking again

btw the implants she got from the surgery looks cool in the x-ray pictures , a whole femur made up of titanium alloy! the doctor's diagnosis from the discharge notes is right neck of femur fracture, surgery was done on a sunday morning 20.05.07 cos there were urgent cases in btw.

looking for a good nursing home for my mum

i went to united medicare center this afternoon, met the director of the place mdm lai, she showed me around the place and gave me the price list... $1.6k 6 bed in a room, $1.7k 4 bed, $1.8k 4 bedroom with veranda... did not realise the costs could be so high!

asked the Mdm lai, if there is any way around it then she say can get subsidy from government but must pass the means test. the subsidy granted may be in the order od 25-50-75%-PA where PA denotes public assistance which means 100% free.

the director even suggested renting out my home unit to 2 of her nurses at $200/mth to offset the costs, cos my home is just 4 minutes away from it.

then later i went to visit my mum at TTSH , and told her abt it, cos my take home pay is only abt $2.1k nia, and my brother isnt contributing at the moment (will psycho/scold him to contribute), btw he's a student at NUS studying masters/PhD. not earning much.
mum does not really like the idea of renting out the spare room in my flat cos its a bit the small and quite dusty/hot, for me i actually like the idea of having 2 hot nurses staying around with me leh! sigh... dilemma dilemma....

anyway i asked the staff nurse at the ward, she told me that only 4 choices for subsidised rehabilitation, amk community hospital, st luke, kwong wai shu, brightview...hmm... i think amk has the best facilities among them all right? but she also says that these places can only stay for a maximum of 4 weeks. overstaying will be subjected to really exorbitant prices (class B1) prices.

rice balls!

a new rice ball shop that i found in m2 square behind novena square near TTSHsame as subway concept u choose what u want to add into your rice ball. the above is the meat section
veggie section.

$3.20 + $1 for the drink
the rice ball kinda small leh....but still quite nice, no gluey after taste like glutinous rice
the pamphlet with the various filling u can add in, dunno whether can upsize the ball anot

my mum just got warded!

58 years old now. weak bones may be be the cause bah. the painkillers managed to numb some of the pain, as it could be excruciating. she now seems some what okay now as she can respond to questions being asked, but still cries when the doctor ask her questions
the ward 5C bed 91 is where she is staying now for the next (hopefully 10 days), with another 5 beds in the same room.
doctor says do a brain scan next morning to make sure she is fit for surgery cos she recovered from a minor stroke since may 2005, to pin back the thigh bones and the hip together, (there is a broken patch of bone at the right side in the x-rays when compared with the left side)
my mum just got warded today for a fall on 16.05.07 3pm afternoon outside toa payoh entertainment center at the entrance near long john silver, to the teenagers (4) whom have helped my mum back home, THANKS!

the doctor put her on saline solution cos she may be due for surgery tml, hence no food and little water given till now until after surgery.

california pizza at forum galleria!

this time group of friends went to forum galleria in orchard road to have a taste of california pizza ( which is the name of the restaurant anyway, though not indicative of the locality of its pizza)some wraps, i cant remember the precise name...
the sauce that came with it is not really that hot even though it make look like it
smashed pea soup with a spinkle of parsley and barley, and yea i m a sucker for soups
is that a pepperoni pizza?

the star of the day , Peking Duck!
with real duck meat slices and sauces on the top! it tastes heavenly!
i think this is some bacon pizza or something, dun really remember the name of the food that i put into my mouth.
hmm... nice peking duck! final bill is $184 for 5 medium pizzas and the wraps+ my soup +7 drinks (5 ice lemon tea one coffee and 2 iced blended coffee) wondering why they did not ask me to foot my soup
